Fiore: Italian for Blossom

Life can be filled with darkness and sorrow. There often comes a time when help is needed from a mental health professional to cope with the challenges you have faced. At Fiore Counseling & Play Therapy, I will partner with you to shine light into the darkness so you can blossom into the person you want to be.

I enjoy working with children, adolescents, parents, and adults to provide the ongoing support they need to flourish.

Life can often get in the way of us taking care of ourselves and providing the space for us to grow and thrive. Stress, trauma, and difficult experiences often interrupt our emotional well-being and create emotional distress. Everyone deserves the opportunity to find their true self to experience joy. Hence, it's my passion to come alongside kids, teens, and adults, and support them in the journey toward health and happiness.

My therapeutic approach begins from a client-centered perspective, which addresses the unique needs of each person. From there, I primarily work from a cognitive-behavioral framework which asserts that identifying and changing harmful thought patterns can lead to reduced emotional distress and a more satisfying life. This is beneficial for both adults and adolescents.

In working with children, I use Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) to help children process trauma, express and regulate emotions, build confidence, and develop social skills.  We will work together to design a treatment plan that is right for you.

I treat issues with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma/PTSD, grief, ADHD, family issues, divorce, behavioral issues, and more. At Fiore Counseling & Play Therapy I have two offices, one for adults and teens and a fully stocked playroom I use with my younger clients. Children best communicate through play and I love sharing this time with them! I am happy to offer a customized approach for each client whether it is in the playroom or in my cozy office.

The letters after my name (above) stand for Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A). I hold a Masters Degree in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC.  I also earned a Masters Degree in Accounting at Kenan-Flagler Business School and a Bachelors Degrees in Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  I am an active member of the American Counseling Association and the Association for Play Therapy.

Prior to becoming a counselor, I worked in the financial industry and spent time at home as the primary caregiver to my two teenage children.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, teenage children, playing tennis, reading, travelling, and sipping coffee with friends.
